When it comes to preparing for your outdoor living space or backyard renovation there are two types of people in this world. Person A, who is well prepared and well planned. We mean, when they go camping they’ve got everything they could possibly need and then some. They are first in line on boxing day for that 60” plasma tv and they always have tickets to that sold out venue or event.

On the other hand, you have person B. They are that person who is always 8-10 steps behind person A. When they go camping it’s always a question if there is even going to be a tent in the car. 60” plasma? Yeah right, they’re still staring at a 24” tube tv and when it comes to that concert, well, they’re sitting up in the nosebleeds.

So, if you want to enjoy your backyard living space for this upcoming season you need to be more like person A. Contact us while it’s still winter time. Getting started early gives you an ample amount of time to get your deck or outdoor living space prepared. Don’t be like person B. If you don’t know the type, they’ll be the one in their second story window looking at their neighbour (person A’s) deck being built while they’re waiting for their permits to go through.

There are lots of things that go into preparation when creating a beautiful outdoor living space or backyard retreat. As always, we’ve broken it down for you into easy to follow steps. You’ve got the designing of your outdoor space and the permits you’ll need to get the building (which often takes the longest - stupid by-laws).

Design You want to be able to come up with a design that will work with your family, backyard, & your budget. You’ll first want to establish what your budget is. Be really clear about this and leave some space if there are any changes to be made. A backyard renovation is a blank canvas - you can really design anything out there just to your liking. Knowing what your budget is, you will be able to give your contractor a good idea of what they can design for you to maximize your hard earned cash in that space.

Permit Once you do select a contractor and you have your design and drawings in place you then need to have the proper permits. For example, if you’re on a ravine you’re going to have to through several steps to get the permits to finish your job. This all takes a lot of time. You want to give yourself a lot of it in order to get your job done on time.

All in all, you’ll want to do yourself a favour and call the BroLaws first. Never mind that, just send us an email (info@brolaws.ca). Give us a good idea of what you’re looking to do in your backyard and what your budget is - we’ll do the rest. If you’ve been following along online then you’ll know that we’re that one stop shop! We’ll design a beautiful 3D design that is within your budget to maximize every dollar that is spent so you’ll have the backyard of your dreams. We’ll even handle all the permit applications for you. It’s basically like pressing the “easy” button.

Let’s get started on your backyard renovation right meow. Did I just say meow? Yes, Yes I did. Call 1-833-BroLaws now. Cause if you’re not a BroLaw, you’re a...No Law...?? Sounded better in our heads.
